Green Schools
Help us achieve our 2nd Green Flag for Energy!

What's a Green Flag?

You might be wondering - what is a Green Flag and why would the school want one?

Green Flags are awarded to schools all over Ireland by Green-Schools Ireland, part of a world-wide programme to encourage environmental awareness and protection.

The Green Flag is a symbol to show that the school is working hard to help protect the environment in different ways. It is also a sign to everyone of the hard work put in by the boys, staff and parents.

We have earned our first flag for Litter and Waste. We are still working hard to reduce the amount of waste we produce, to recycle as much as we can and to reuse instead of throwing out. Now we are also working on getting our flag for Energy!

It is very important for the boys in our school to learn about the environment and how to protect it. The Green Flag project links in with subjects such as Science, Geography and S.P.H.E.
